}Call item.trash
Move an image, a document, an email, a post, a data table, a whole site or app, or an automation to the Trash — ‘trash that sunset image’, ‘get rid of the draft welcome email’, ‘bin the post about the new menu’, ‘throw away the old signups table’, ‘we are done with the Acme landing site, bin it’, ‘delete the Monday report automation’. The item leaves every project and list it shows in; nothing is charged. A trashed post never publishes: its scheduled versions are set aside and its place on the schedule is freed, and a post already out stays on the platform. An automation is switched off first and stays off. An email that is set to send is refused until the member sends it back to draft, and a post going out right now is refused until it has posted. Calling it raises the approval card naming exactly the item it found, and the card is where the member checks it is the right one, so call it on the ask rather than asking which one first. Send item_id when a verb or the page showed you the item’s id — a site’s site_id, an automation’s definition_id from automations.list; otherwise send name, the member’s words for its name, title or subject (a site the member has open needs neither). Not for a video or short — archiving one, or bringing it back, is videos.archive, and deleting one for good is videos.remove — nor a project, which goes to the Trash from its own menu. Over the API it answers in two calls: without confirmation_id it proposes — says what would happen, returns a confirmation_id and changes, spends and sends nothing; the same arguments again with that confirmation_id, on a member’s own API key, do it.
Every result names the workspace it ran in. Say which workspace the answer is about. When the account has more than one workspace and none is selected, this tool refuses with workspace_ambiguous and lists the choices — offer them, never pick one.

}Authorizations
An API key minted at Settings › API & MCP. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>. A key carries its holder's own permissions, resolved on every call — revoking a membership closes the key's reach immediately. Keep it in an environment variable (GOOSY_API_KEY), never in a committed file.
Headers
Your own id for this request, echoed back and recorded on the audit trail. 1–128 characters from A–Z a–z 0–9 . _ : -, starting with a letter or digit; anything else is replaced by a generated id.
128Body
What the item is: an image, a document, an email, a post, a data table, a whole site or app, or an automation.
image, document, email, post, table, site, automation The item's id, as a UUID a verb or the page showed you; for an automation, its definition_id. Leave it out when you only have the member's words for it.
^([0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12})$The member's words for the item's name, when there is no item_id.
1 - 200Omit to propose: the first call says what would happen, returns a confirmation_id and changes nothing. To go ahead, send the same arguments again with that confirmation_id, on a member's own API key; a service account's key can propose but never confirm.
^([0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12})$Which workspace to run in — its slug. Omit to use your default. With more than one reachable workspace and no default, the call is refused and the choices are listed.
1Response
The call was admitted and dispatched. ok says whether the tool succeeded — a refusal the tool itself produced is still a 200, exactly as it is a successful JSON-RPC result over MCP.
- Option 1
- Option 2
The tool ran and answered.
The slug of the workspace this call ran in.
Which workspace this call ran in, and how that was decided. Present on every workspace-scoped result.
