# Set up your brand

> Fill in who you are, what you sell and how you sound — the settings that most change what Goosy makes.

Goosy writes from what you tell him. Twenty minutes on this screen changes
every image, script, post, email and ad that comes out afterwards — and it is
the cheapest twenty minutes in the product, because the alternative is
correcting the same thing in every draft.

Go to **Settings → Brand**. The screen says what it is for: *who you are and
what you sell — the answers Goosy writes everything from*.

## Start with the top of the page

Two blocks sit above everything else, and they carry the most weight. Fill
these in first even if you do nothing else today.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Who you are">
    Your **one-liner** — the business in a sentence. Your **audience** — who
    you are for, in their words rather than a demographic. And **the market
    you're in**, so Goosy knows what he is comparing you against.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Offer and goal">
    **What you sell**, the **promise** you make to a buyer, and — separately —
    what you are trying to achieve **right now**. The goal is the part people
    skip and the part that most changes what Goosy suggests, because it is the
    difference between "make me content" and "make me content that does this".
  </Step>
</Steps>

Each block has an **Edit** control. Nothing has to be perfect; you can come
back, and Goosy gets better every time you do.

## Then how you sound

Below those, an **Everything else** section opens up the detail. It is
described on the screen as the place to go when you want to get specific —
Goosy writes from all of it.

| Section                   | What it decides                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Your voice** | What you are, what you are not, and how the tone flexes moment to moment. Your voice stays the same everywhere; tone is what moves. |
| **Words** | The words you reach for, and the ones you never use. |
| **What you keep saying** | Your pillars — the handful of things you come back to, and what backs each one up. |
| **Who you're talking to** | The people you are writing for. Goosy writes sharper copy when he knows who is reading. |

<Note>
  Your never-say words are the same list Compliance checks drafts against. One
  list, two places — so adding a phrase here also stops it appearing in
  anything that goes out.
</Note>

At the bottom of the page, **Give this to any AI** builds a single block of
text out of everything above. Copy it and paste it in front of whatever you ask
another model to write, and you get the same voice outside Goosy Bear.

## Your look

**Visual identity** on the same screen holds your colours and shows how many
you have stored. **Open Brand Kit** takes you to the full set — logos, colours
and type — and the **Brand kit** tab at the top of the Brand screen goes to the
same place. Two more tabs sit beside it: **Intros & outros** for the top and
tail of your videos, and **Inference** for what Goosy has worked out on his own.

## The four settings people miss

Once the Brand screen is filled in, four more settings do most of the remaining
work. All four are in **Settings**, under the **Workspace** heading.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Timezone">
    Under **Settings → Defaults**. This is the clock your workspace works to —
    what "Tuesday at 9" means when Goosy schedules something. Set it before you
    schedule anything, not after.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Strategy">
    **Settings → Strategy** holds your strategic statements: mission, vision,
    positioning, value proposition, differentiator, strategic goal, content
    pillars, competitive stance and audience promise. Everything Goosy makes is
    scored against the ones you have declared.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Taste">
    **Settings → Taste** is what this workspace has learned from your own
    feedback — the notes every future run reads before it starts. You do not
    write it from scratch; it fills up as you approve and reject things, which
    is why the second month is easier than the first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compliance">
    **Settings → Compliance** holds standing disclosures, banned claims and
    your posture if you work in a regulated industry. A locked disclosure's
    text cannot be edited while it stays locked.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Two more are worth a look before you make a video: **Voices** is the registry
of voices Goosy can speak your videos in, and **Avatars** the presenters he can
put on camera. Both come with a library to pick new ones from.

## What to do next

Your brand is set. Now give Goosy somewhere to publish it:
