# Plan and billing

> Your plan, what a credit is, where the balance lives, what happens when it runs low, and how to change or end a plan.

**Settings → Plan & billing** is where money lives. It is three things on one
page: your plan, your credits, and the card you pay with.

**Prices are not repeated here.** The plan comparison in the product shows what
each plan costs, and [goosybear.ai](https://goosybear.ai) is where the current
prices live.

## Plan and credits are two different things

* **The plan** is your capability tier — how much of the product is open to you,
  what quality renders come out at, how many workspaces you can run.
* **Credits** meter what is generated. Everything Goosy makes for you draws from
  one balance, whichever workspace it was made in.

A plan that bundles credits adds them each month. Credits you buy on top never
expire.

## Your plan

The first card names the plan you are on and when it renews. **Change plan**
opens the comparison: every plan side by side with what it includes, and the
one you are on marked as current.

Two rules are written on that screen and worth knowing before you move:

* **Upgrades apply now** and are billed for the part of the period you use.
* **Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for**
  — you keep what you paid for until it runs out.

## Credits

The second card shows your balance and, underneath it, what draws on it:
images, clips, videos and voice, with bigger jobs using more. **Publishing what
you approve is always included** — sending something out never costs credits.

### Adding credits

Pick one of the suggested amounts or type your own, then check out. The credits
land on the balance as soon as the payment confirms, usually within a few
seconds.

### Topping up automatically

Under the same card you can switch on automatic top-up and set three numbers:

| Setting           | What it means                                        |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| **Top up below**  | The balance at which a top-up is triggered.          |
| **Add each time** | How much is added when it triggers.                  |
| **Monthly limit** | The most that may be added automatically in a month. |

The monthly limit is the point of the feature. It is what makes an unattended
top-up safe: it cannot quietly become an unbounded one.

You can turn it off at any time, and a declined card stops it rather than being
retried — the page tells you that is what happened, and asks you to update the
card before switching it back on.

### Running out

Running out is not a failure state and it is never a surprise charge. Goosy
**pauses** rather than billing you for more than you chose to spend, and says
so on the page. Add credits and the work picks straight back up.

This is why the balance is worth a glance before a big run — a long video or a
batch of images is where a balance goes.

## Payment method

The third card holds the card we would charge, including for automatic top-up.
Replacing it is a normal card entry; the new one becomes the card in use as soon
as it is saved.

An account that is not charged has no card to keep on file, and the card says
exactly that instead of showing an empty form.

## When a workspace bills on its own card

Some workspaces are paid for by a different account. When that is the case the
credits card says so, and both credits and plan changes are handled on the
account that pays — not here.

## Who can open this

What opens this section is permission to buy, not a role as such. Owners and
admins hold that permission by default. If you do not see **Plan & billing** in
the settings rail, you do not hold it, and a direct link is refused rather than
shown read-only.

## Ending a plan

If you pay for a plan, the foot of **Change plan** carries a quiet link to your
cancellation options. It is never hidden, and it is never a dead end.

**Settings → Usage** is the read-only half of this story: every credit in and
